Crestron and AMX customers rejoice! Today we’re releasing our Adaptation design for both the VTPro-e and TPDesigner4 platforms. This is a big deal! Why? Because, this is the first Guifx designed release for Crestron and AMX in a long time – and for good reason. We’ve spent a truckload of time over the past several months putting together the most comprehensive collection of page layouts and user experience functions for use on simple to complex Crestron and AMX systems.

This first thing you’ll notice about the new Adaptation releases is the level of thought put into the way a user navigates their touch-panel system. Global room navigation and “quick keys” allow instant access to functions like Ambience (lighting, climate, and environment), Security (cameras, and alarm monitoring), and Whole House for the control of house-wide functions. Adaptation, works perfectly in single-zone room applications and really shines when handling highly complex multi-zone systems.

Everything in Adaptation is customizable, if you don’t like the look or location of something, change it! Our convenient clip-board pages give you copy-paste access to all the graphics used in the composition of this template, so you can adjust with the tools the pros use. How did you live without this stuff?

As far as pages included in the templates, all the major controls are included (View them for Crestron and AMX). Here’s the list: Ambience (Environment), Cable-Satellite TV, CD/DVD, Climate, Curtains & Blinds, DVR, HD Radio, iPod, Keyboard, Lighting & Fans, Movie Server, Music Server, Presentation, Radio Tuner, Satellite Radio, Security General, Security Alarm, Security Cameras (Monitoring), Sources, Startup Home, Teleconferencing, TiVo, Video Conferencing, Whole House. Both Crestron and AMX have convenient pop-up pages for room/zone selection. Crestron customers alone have pop-ups for Microsoft Windows application support.

Guifx design partner, T&T Communications, was awarded first place in the Creative GUI Award at the Crestron Integration Awards 2008.

T&T received the Creative GUI accolade from Crestron in recognition of their graphic design work in creating a touchpanel template which is designed specifically for children.

The template, Kidz, was designed to fill a gap in the market for a touchpanel interface which would appeal to younger children and be as simple as possible to use, particularly in a bedroom or playroom environment.

Mike Benton, designer of the Kidz template said; ‘We are very pleased to have received this prestigious award. It recognizes our efforts at T&T to create unique and engaging interface designs that not only look great but provide the basis for functional and intuitive control.’

Kidz is currently available as a template for the Crestron platform in 320×240 and 640×480 resolutions.

What’s that you say? A Guifx template for a hardware platform that’s not even out yet? Yes! As an official RTI integration partner, we were able to work with RTI and their beta software to prepare a template in advance. We’re happy to announce that our popular Adaptation template is now available for the soon-to-be-shipping RTI T3-V touch-panel remote.

A quote from our design department about the T3-V – “That is one hi-res little panel.” We’ve all been pretty pumped about the T3-V since we got a chance to caress one back at EHX 2008. We’ve had a ton of requests for Adaptation on the T3-V, and today we deliver.

Adaptation for the T3-V takes full advantage of the brilliant high-resolution display. These are the pages that are included – Sources, DVR, TiVo, Lighting, Climate, Satellite Radio, Disc, Media Center, and Tuner. All the necessary Favorites and Keypad pages are also available for the aforementioned list of control pages.

Guifx, designers of high-definition, user-friendly, graphical user interfaces, today announced they have been commissioned by Xantech to provide professionally designed graphics for two touch panels: the SmartPad LCD 3.9g and 6.4g version. The graphics are compatible with Xantech’s Universal Dragon Design software used for panel customization.

For both the 3.9g and 6.4g hardware, Guifx has created a stylish, modern collection of buttons, source icons, and backgrounds. The package is available in blue, tan, and black themes. Xantech will push this Guifx graphic update package to their software users via an automatic update tool.

“The past year has been an exciting one for Guifx, and the new relationship with Xantech adds to the momentum that’s been building for months,” says Joe Peduto, Director of Business Development for Guifx. “We’re happy to have the opportunity to bring our graphics to such a major player in the touch panel industry. With every new commission of a custom graphic set, our designers have an opportunity to push the limits of a manufacturer’s hardware. We feel like we’ve accomplished that here.”

Popular Crystal Photo Pane and Tungsten template designs have been expanded to include support for additional Crestron touch panels. Crystal Photo Pane is now available for the Crestron TPMC-17 and TPS-17, and Tungsten is now available for the Crestron TPS-6L.

Both Crystal Photo Pane and Tungsten can be customized with any photo or digital image, like those available in our Background Sets.

Brushed Steel has just received a big update. New pages have been added which include presentation, teleconferencing, and video conferencing — perfect for commercial projects. Check the previews to see all the goodies. The design now also natively supports all Crestron panels including the TPS-6L and TPS-3000(L).

The other day I bought an Apple TV (what a cool device btw). So, I went to add a “Watch Apple TV” activity to my RTI T4 in my living room. I’m using Meta with the built-in RTI icons (which happen to be Aero), but I wanted an Apple TV specific icon. So I looked around on the internet, but I didn’t find a good one. So, with me being a graphic designer and all, I decided to make one myself.

But I got a little carried away (as usual, right Morgan ), and I ended up making an entire set of Apple TV icons! And with our snazzy new “Insider” section I have a great way to share them with you. There’s 6 icons in all. All sized at a huge 512×512 resolution (see example) with full PNG transparency. If you need to resize, use CoPilot.

Guifx, today announced a new license agreement with Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI). Guifx will now be providing a customized version of their touch-panel remote template, “Curacao,” for RTI’s soon to be released T3-V remote. The new template is designed for Integration Designer Software with easy editing in mind.

Additionally, RTI has licensed Guifx’s new Nexgen Icon Set to integrate gaming system icons into their touch-panel design software. This new agreement brings an incredible value to RTI integrators. Both the Nexgen and Aero Icon Sets will now be available to RTI’s user base as a free download from the Guifx website.
